When I proved too much of a handful for my previous owners, contact was made to the shelter and I was thereafter released accordingly. To say I'm sad is indeed true, but I am equally excited about the prospect of being awarded with a fresh start so that I can prove I am a wonderful dog who would make a great addition to just the right home.
Let me just get it out there: I chase cattle! In my defense, I don't go to them but they instead come to me. To clarify, the property on which I lived was a designated crossing ground for cows going to and from pasture each day. When passing through in the morning, I attempted to greet them. When passing in the evening, I attempted to bid them goodnight. I never hurt a single one them but the farmer who owned them was not tolerant of my gestures. Had he been thinking, he could have had himself a herder who asked for only a hickory flavored treat in return for services at a cost to him of only pennies a day!
I do very well with both other dogs and respectful children of all ages and I have a tremendous fondness for my tug-of-war rope toys. Perhaps my only downfall, if you will, is that I consider myself a great huntress of all animals big and small. I have brought home everything from opossum to raccoon to chipmunks to deer legs. I argue that in the future I not be allowed such opportunities as I still have big dreams of becoming a cattle herder!
Having earned a 9 out of 10 on my house training skills, I am used to using a doggie door to let myself in and out whenever the need arises. I am very protective of those I most love and will bark to summon the arrival of strangers onto the property. Once they say my name though, I become putty in their hands.
